Training
Training is an important piece of any organisational change effort. It
can generate enthusiasm, build momentum and help people break old,
inefficient and ineffective patterns. It helps people move to new and
more productive ways of doing business.
Equality training in the workplace is usually undertaken in an attempt
to develop knowledge, skill, behaviours or attitudes to achieve
effective performance in an activity or range of activities. It can also
be used to change a behaviour or range of behaviours which will
ultimately change or reinforce the culture of an organisation.
Many organisations have been investing in the development of equality
through special training. Training can range from broad based equality
and diversity training to programmes designed to address specific
aspects such as:
- Gender Equality.
- Disability Awareness.
- Sexual Harassment, Harassment and Bullying in the workplace.
- Anti Racism or Inter Cultural Training.
- Recruitment and Selection Techniques.
- Employment Equality Legislation.
